Goffs Sales purchases & video added

Walk in the Park filly purchased yesterday

We had an interesting and productive day at Doncaster yesterday, and despite driving wind and rain early on, thankfully the weather settled by lunchtime and the sun came out eventually. There were a range of purchases –  one colt and four fillies, all just turned yearlings but still foal like in appearance at this time of year – Tommy having a day off due to his broken collarbone and taking home a nice pair of youngsters, a ‘Schiaperelli’ filly and a Presenting related ‘Dunaden’ colt (features on the video just uploading) , The Bell & Darling families bought a pair of very smart fillies by ‘Walk in the Park’ and ‘Pour Moi’, and we brought home a strong, attractive chestnut daughter of ‘Soldier of Fortune’ out of bumper winner, Molly Cat.

This video features mainly last years foals – now just turned yearlings. We weren’t looking at the top priced colts but we were looking at the nicest fillies, and in a few years time it will be interesting to see which ones work out – hopefully the ones we have bought! There was value to be had if you looked carefully, and as usual we bought one that we didn’t plan on, but she is a lovely Soldier of Fortune filly who didn’t break the bank. His stud fee is £8000 this year so she looks well bought at £3500 out of a bumper winner who started favourite for the Aintree mares bumper final.

For anyone interested in purchasing a well bred NH yearling to ‘put away’ for the future there is a one day sale in Ireland at Tatersalls next Tuesday which Phil could attend. All the top sires are represented. The catalogue can be viewed here:

Tommy’s ‘Dunaden’ colt

Asum’s full sister by KAYF TARA who sold for £44,000 – not to us unfortuntely! A lovely walker…. and his DAM below who realised £36,000 NOT in foal

Check in later this afternoon for an 8 minute video of our day at the sales and some of the youngsters we did and didn’t buy…
