Thursday’s news

Today started earlier than usual with a 4.30 am set off time to Leeds Bradford Airport, I dropped Phil off so he could catch the 6.30am to Dublin – he is attending the Goffs ‘Sportsman’ Yearling Sales today – and will be home on the evening flight – a busy but hopefully productive day! Last night was spent with a final look through the catalogue and doing further research on lots he has picked out to view.

If anyone would like to watch the sale live and and view the catalogue, simply click this link and select the ‘view sale live’ button when the sale begins this morning…it won’t play until the sale commences around 10.30

It was pouring down early but the day is brightening up now and we have a full house in to be ridden out plus a runner at Pontefract in the 5.15 – new 2 year old, ‘Sincerely Resdev’ by Rock of Gibralter out of the Singspiel mare, Sincerely.  If ever a horse looked like ‘Black Beauty’ this is he – a black gelding with a neat white star. he is having his second start – he made his debut for David O Meara 27 days ago.

Sincerely Resdev

2 year old ‘Jaycol’s Star’ stayed on to finish 7th of 19  in a competive nursery handicap at Redcar yesterday. He is one for further in time. Tomorrow sees ‘Good Time Ahead’ at Newcastle in the 5.45 – a 1m 4f handicap where he carries bottom weight under Andrew Mullen. He has been knocking on the door his last few runs and we wish his Owners that extra bit of luck this time to get a win on the board.

Once a week some of our horses are given flatwork schooling in the arena at home – it makes them use and build up  theit muscles correctly, and is also a change from their routine. Pictured here is Sakhee’s City with Jenni, he has proved a bit of a natural at it and wouldn’t look out of place in the dressage arena. He is however, about to embark on his novice chase career, and schooled well with Adam last week.
