Friday’s news – and video
The sun is shining and I have just taken this video of Suggestion looking great and having his final canter ahead of his 2nd bumper run at Market Rasen tomorrow – 9 runners in both divisons and Phil has also declared TARA TIME, a change of plan but with the race splitting it looks a decent opportunity and then we can crack on schooling her after this fourth bumper run. The ground should suit them both, neither race looks easy but very rarely do you get an easy bumper. It will be a tough ask for Suggestion to win with a penalty and Adam has also now lost his 3lb claim which means in effect he has a 10lb penalty – he is only fourth in the betting as a result, despite winning nicely at Uttoxeter, and a good effort under top weigt giving 5 year olds 7lbs will show that he is the nice horse we believe he is. Tara is a big price in her division but she is a decent mare and we are sure she will give a better account of herself than on her last run at Sedge where she was a little buzzy.
We also have two fillies running at Catterick tomorrow, Kallisto Freedom & Enlighten Me – both will need nursery handicaps to be competitive and the former is big and weak and will be a better horse next year, but she qualifies for a mark after tomorrow, and Enlighten Me should have come on a lot for her Ayr outing – she steps up a furlong in trip.
Green Oaks now has three yearlings from the Tattersalls yearling sales – a half brother to Sakhee’s City by Medicean arrives today to join the Poet’s Voice and Teofilo fillies already arrived.
Next Edition scholed well yesterday for the first time in a good few years – he is now
going to have a run over hurdles for his new Partnership term (his is a previous hurdles winner at Bangor) – Owners please see your inbox for re-joining forms and prize money details, he has won £3121 over the last 6 months. We have a couple of shares available in him to get involved in a free lease Partnership – just £675 all in until the end of March in a little horse who runs regularly and gets you racing in the North at our local tracks, he has had a win and 2 seconds in the last 8 months. Please email pippakirby@icloud for no obligation rules/regs, and a joining form.
We also now have just 2 shares left in the Beneficial 3 year old gelding ‘Bertie Blake’ who is doing everything so easily and is well on track for an early 2017 bumper appearance – as you can see from these photos he is a fine looking, powerful young National Hunt prospect and we can’t wait to step us work and see what he can do over the coming months. Its £2500 for a share (20 owners max) ‘all in’ up until June 30th 2017 when you can then choose to renew annually at out standard Pship 12 month term sost, £1250 a year ‘all in’ thereafter (less any prize money won) during the term.
Other horses photographed this morning…
