Sedgefield winner ‘Nautical Nitwit’
We had one runner, one winner tonight at Sedgefield – Nautical Nitwit giving his Owners, The Birrafun Partnership a memorable evening with a hard fought success in the 2m 3f Handicap hurdle for an excellent £4k+ prize money at one of our well supported local tracks. This gave Adam his 75th win under rules and he therefore loses his 3lb claim and now joins the professional ranks – we are sure there will be many more winners to come.
Tomorrow we have Moshe and Seminole Dream at Thirsk, the ground will have eased nicely for Moshe and he should have a good chance tomorrow dropped in grade, he has been running consistently well in 0-80’s and 0-85’s all summer. Seminole Dream’s run hinges on the ground, we will see what happens tonight.
Phil took the yearling colt ‘Rebel’ to Goffs/DBS sales today for Owner Ace Bloodstock Ltd. Rebel has been with us from a foal, bred out of Marmot Bay by 1st season sire, Swiss Spirit. This was an excellent first breeding success for John Hanson with his Kodiac mare, the colt making a very pleasing £36k , he looked tremendous and has a good write up in tomorrows Racing Post bloodstock report. We will watch his career with interest, and his smart half brother may go to the foal sales in November.
We were thrilled to open the Horse & Hound today to see a photo and lovely show success write up of Word of Warning who is doing so well with Claire Poole, Claire also has King’s Grey now and he is sure to be following in Smokey’s footsteps.
