Weekend news

imageJust the one runner today, Phil is heading up to Southwell with Quadriga  for the 2.15, a competitive looking 1 mile handicap, Douggie Costello on board the 5 year old. Quadriga has been on the go a while but he is back to his favoured surface, although he needs to step up on his most recent form to figure.  He won’t be in these colours today, he runs in the green and beige of The Batham Boys  – new Owners to the yard and they will be looking forward to a Saturday out at the races. Whitchurch is now on a winter break after his fianl start of 2015, he is coming back to Castleton as many of his owners live just near Whitby and enjoy coming to visit him.

News from the gallops:

looking good.

Stopped Out has come out of his Wetherby race in good form and its all systems go for Cheltenham on New years Day, the race that wil be his swansong.

The young hurdlers Keep up & Hugh’s Secret have schooled well ahead of their runs at Catterick next Tuesday. keep up had a tired fall at Wetherby a few weeks ago but it doesnt seem to have fazed him.

The yearlings are cantering up the 3f every day and starting to look like racehorses now, we have a team of four yearling fillies!

Transient Bay – all the shares in him have now been sold. He headed back to Sharp Hill this morning to canter and Phil will make a decision on Tuesday when he sees what the handicapper has done to his mark as to wether he runs on Friday at Uttoxeter or not.

These tubs keep them busy for quite a while and they are safe under Jockey Club regulations. They can be bought or posted from all major Pet/Equine stores.
