Friday 5th June
Its time for the chasing debut of Factor Fifty today at Market Rasen, his Topspec Partnership Owners will be watching nervously, as will we, but he has done plenty of schooling and all his best form is at this track. Its not a handicap, and he is not ‘well in’ on his hurdles mark, but he still goes there with a decent chance and there are two front runners so there will be plenty of pace on. James Reveley rides.
‘Frankie’ is one of my favourite horses, a very gentle, polite horse with the kindest temperament, very elegant and a pleasure to lead up at the races, he never pulls. He also tries his hardest in his races and often finishes very tired, there aren’t many more honest than him.
Birthday Guest was a non runner at Lingfield yesterday as the ground went too quick, it was a long drive back for Phil, especially after the nightmare result with Cathedral on Wednesday evening, how on earth did he get beat?
However, the photo finish camera doesn’t lie, and he must have had his head back at just the wrong time. A good run for nothing as the handicapper will put him up.
Our Travelling Head Girl, Julie Heneghan received some exciting news yesterday, she has been picked out of the applicants to ride in a ‘staff’ flat race at Doncaster over 7f. Its on the 26th of June and she will have lots of support on the big day. The mount is undecided yet! We will be bringing extensive coverage of Julie’s ‘flat debut’.
