Wednesday- AW again!

imageWe have three runners today, one at Chelmsford (Cathedral) and the older boys Stormy Morning and Call it On at Wolverhampton in the 3.30, just the wrong time for me to watch our runners at exactly school pick up time! What terrible race planning.

Call it On is still too high in the handicap these days considering he has only ever won one flat race but     he will find his level and it may be that he needs 0-60’s at his age in life now, he struggled on his comeback and will eventually go chasing again when the right race comes along. Stormy Morning is on a decent mark but hasn’t won first time in the past and this comes off a long break. He looks in great shape though for his comeback and his Ownaracehorse Owners will be looking forward to this afternoon and seeing him in action again. Cathedral didnt get a great ride last time and we are hoping for better today at the Essex track.

We were pleased with the run of O’ly Roccs at Wolverhampton yesterday showing his reliable consistency once again, he rarely finishes out of the frame. There was improvement also from Splash of Verve who finished running and looks capable of getting back to the winners enclosure soon, he just needs to learn to settle early in his races to perform to his best.

We sadly said goodbye to Meg’s favourite, Hail the Brave yesterday who was sold at Ascot, a necessary dissolvement of a hailPartnership. He was a winning hurdler for us last winter, a horse with plenty of ability but also capable of some head scratchingly bad runs. He was sold to the yard of Michael Smith and Phil brought home two filies, a well bred grey 3 year old  Sulamani out of a twice winning chase mare from the family of Jodami, she has gone to Sharp Hill last  night to start being broken in today ( she will be for sale to make a 2016 bumper filly)  and a very good looking two year old store by Malinas who is back here at Dibble Bridge to go out for the summer.
