Call it on

Call it on

We have two runners today, Southwell and Redcar, and stable amateur Ross Turner will be looking forward to his ride on our own Call it On in the stayers handicap on the fibresand. Ross has been doing plenty of work on the equisizer and he will need to have had his weetabix this morning as Colin can run a bit lazily at times and he hasn’t run on the flat for over three years. He carries Phil’s colours this afternoon and his main job will be going jumping this summer as long as we can keep him clear of the niggly problems he has had over the last year.

Just up the road at Redcar the three year of Splash of Verve runs in the mile handicap qualifier. He should have come on for his first outing, and although this mile may in time prove to be on the sharp side, he looked to tire over the extended trip last time so Phil has dropped him back today.

Its a busy week with DBS Sales and runners entered as far north as Ayr and as far South as Auteil in France ( Aniknam) . Impressive bumper winner Bedale Lane heads to the sales for Owner/breeder Robin Ellerbeck and we hope she makes a good price for him, this Kayf Tara mare did nothing but improve in bumpers.

We had a colic scare with Marmot Bay last week when she arrived back from stud but thankfully she is okay again now and her little colt is none the worse for his trip to the vets. They looked lovely in the sunshine at Dibble yesterday and all the other horses like watching the foal!
