Monday’s News

Its a beautiful sunny morning at Castleton but there are meant to be imageshowers this week to really make our newly fertilized grass take off ready for the mares coming back from stud. Pickworth is the last to foal and she went almost a month over last year so it could be a long time yet! We continue to get positive

Epicurean and Coco

Epicurean and Coco

reports about Royalty’s colt who is responding well to treatment, he is very active and its all looking good. Epicurean’s colt foal is absolutely huge, i dont know how he fitted in there. She was tired after foaling and no wonder but both doing well. He has been named Coco.

imageWe were delighted with Chloe’s Image  winning on her third start back into training, she has been improving every week and she looks the sort of mare who can go on from this stepped up in trip again. She is not the quickest but game and genuine, and she should be very competitive off her hurdles mark when we switch to hurdling at some point as she is a superb jumper. Her half sister Lady Chloe won on her second start over hurdles. This mare is for sale or lease to stay on the yard, please ask for details.

Istimraar showed he was ready for a break at Wetherby yesterday, he has been on the go all his racing life and will now have 6 weeks or so off to chill out on some Spring grass. The ground was too lively for Stopped Out but with plenty of April showers forecast it should ease enough for him to run shortly. Hopefully it won’t rain too much for Perennial at Musselburgh later in the week. We are also looking forward to running Indalo Returns over fences  and he  wants it pretty quick.
