The Arcano colt at DBS

Rumble of Thunder is our runner today and our first on the turf this flat season. He is currently 9-2 in the 2.20 at Doncaster and although we would have preferred a bit slower ground, he handles this and should give a good account of himself with Joey Haynes in the saddle for The Well Oiled Partnership.

Rumble has a fantastic racing record, he is so consistent – his last six starts have yielded these results -1222-13 what a super horse he is, he has won 89,000 in his career to date.

We are so excited that good girl ‘Epicurean’ has had a big dark brown colt to Passing Glance last night and thanks for Lesley and Bob Haw for delivering him safely into the world. He is a full brother to Avidity and a half brother to Episode, pictured left. Epicurean will visit Midnight legend when he is 3 weeks old. We will be visiting him later this afternoon and will post photos. Episode is going well at home, he may run in another bumper before his date at the sales at DBS next month. He is a gorgeous horse  who we have definately not seen the best of yet.

A new horse arrived yesterday – the well known handicap chaser ‘King’s Grey’ who Brian Twomey has bought from John Wade. Brian hopes to make his comeback on him – and preferably a winning one! He is a grand horse to have on the yard and we look forward to his first start.

Tomorrow is busy with Factor Fifty having an exciting date at Sandown in the 2m4f handicap hurdle – the final race Tony McCoy will ride in and surely televised on Channel 4. Adam Nicol is back in the plate on Frankie and will be looking forward to the race as track, trip and ground should suit and he surely has a small each way chance in what will be an ultra competitive 20 runner handicap for serious prize money. Quite a few of his owners are able to make the trip there and we can all get pretty excited tonight about a super day to look forward to at Sandown tomorrow. I have never been to the track, and Izzy is coming with us too on this big occasion. He carries 10 6lb less Adam’s 3lbs, and he is currently priced up at 20-1 on Attheraces for this £18,768 to the winner race. Hopefully his lucky new Ellwood colours of black, gold and green will feature in the finish up that Sandown hill tomorrow – we can certainly dream tonight.

Our own mare ‘Chloe’s Image’ also runs tomorrow at Wolverhampton and we would be hopeful of an improved performance from her staying on 4th last time at the same track. She will come into her own back on turf this summer and we are also looking forward to going hurdling with her as she has a decent handicap mark, but another nice run tomorrow would be ideal and hopefully pay for the trip out too. Its a step up in trip tomorrow and she looks to be crying out for it, especially on a track like W’hampton. All her best form is actually right handed and we are looking forward to running her at Beverley, Ripon and Musselburgh this summer and maybe Market Rasen over hurdles.

Ex racer News– the gorgeous ‘Word of Warning’ who was given to me by the ’12 Go Racing P’ship’ is having a great start to his showing season. He is being ridden  by Claire Poole  who has him on loan from me for 2015 – with work commitments and busy family life i have too much on at present to do him justice- But Claire is doing a brilliant job. He won his first show of the season, looking superb. This wining  ex chaser and hurdler adores his new career.

smokey wins!!smaokey wow
