Thursdays News

It has been a stressful day at Castleton with our own broodmare Helen Wood taking a trip to the vets with unusual colic symptoms, she is at the vets overnight but she seems to have settled  down and hopefully she will be back to herself  tomorrow, we are told the foal is still doing okay- 3.5 months to go.

Partnership News: I will be emailing all partnerships separately tomorrow, but in brief- Transient Bay is entered at Hexham next Tueday, and Can’t Believe it seems to be firing on all cylinders again, he schooled a couple of days ago. both Factor Fifty and Next Edition are fine enjoying their break.

We have the possibility of a new  10 or 20 strong Partnership for next Summer,  our dual winner Mac Tiernan is making a comeback After a year off, and Stacy who has him on loan is going to be one of his partnership Owners.  Mac was a real little machine when he won on his only two starts for us and it should be good fun to have him back for  year. There would be no joining fee, this would be a horse free leased to the Partnership to enjoy some northern flat racing, and the fee will reflect this. Interested? Email with your name and we will be in touch when the time comes.

I have been busy painting Stenna this evening. I don’t usually show anyone work half finished ( and there us a lot of work still to do) but I thought his owners may like to see the work in progress! Both the Original oil on canvas, pictured, ( will be framed in 4 inch Antique a Gold) and a select limited Edition print run of just 20 is available to buy for Christmas.  Also below is acompleted work, many of you may recognise Hail the Brave, he runs next week.
