Philip Kirby Racing

Racehorse Trainer based at Richmond, North Yorkshire

Carlisle & Southwell

Tomorrow sees a couple of good chances at Carlisle, although Cool Operator is entitled to come on a lot for the run, his first in over a year and a half. ‘Howard’ (named after his former trainer Mr Johnson)  is looking in great shape and is ridden every day by Sarah Olley who will be watching him nervously tomorrow. Many of you will have read that we have on offer a 25% FREE LEASE in this high class handicapper who is running for over £6k tomorrow. We are most surprised it has not been taken up – yet, rather like the quarter we advertised last year in Goldan Jess that stayed with us and won us well over £12,000 for our 25% since!

howard paddockHe is pictured her with regular jockey Adam Nicol who will be back on board claiming a valuable 5lbs tomorrow. Good luck to his other owners, The Gathering.

Update: THE FREE LEASE HAS NOW BEEN TAKEN – good luck to new Owner John Hanson this afternoon.

just cameron winsHenry Brooke rides the front running ‘Just Cameron’ in the earlier 2m 1f hurdle – a track that Cameron has won at in the past (pictured left)  although he did need his first run there last year and its a tough hill to climb to the post when the ground is holding.  If you have watched our Owners Day videos you will see that he is a lovely looking big dark brown horse, and is really well in himself.

Hail the Brave completes our trio of runners for the day – and he is ridden by Kyle James at Southwell – a third run in novice company being needed to acquire a handicap mark.  Hail the Brave should have come on for his first outing where he got a bit tired in the heavy ground, he is a nice prospect for novice handicaps this winter.

Embsay Crag is fine after his solid 4th at Pontefract and he is another who will come on for the outing – and be back over hurdles soon.
