Pass Muster with Julie winning on his last start at Musselburgh

Pass Muster with Julie  – past  winner at Musselburgh.

Phil and Julie will be going to Musselburgh today with Pass Muster and Iftikaar, we could do with a winner and this is the track that usually delivers for us. Pass Muster always runs well fresh and with 93 days off he will be feeling really well. However, with threat of light rain all day and a heavy outburst possible (what bad timing after weeks of no rain) this could prove a real pain as he loves to hear his hooves rattle and the ground has already eased to good. Iftikaar runs in the 7f 0-65 handicap and we will see if he has a workable mark with which to be competitive, he also likes it fast and if only that rain could have held off until tomorrow. Good luck to Keith and Jayne Sivills with their two runners today, we would love a winner in their purple and white silks and the batleys cash and carry handicap is a race we have won in the past.

Apologies for the quiet couple of days but flu has caught me out and i am back firing again now. We haven’t any winners to report but there have been some promising runs from Sr Swing who stayed on nicely at Chester in the filllies maiden on Saturday and Rocky Two who was only beaten a length and a quarter for 4th at Redcar after employing new front running tactics  which he looked to really enjoy. Splash of Verve ran better then his placing suggested at Chester, and he should grow into a nice three year old for next year – he had a good gallop in the paddock at Dibble Bridge yesterday and is now in his box at Sharp Hill after ‘going back to work’ this morning.

Just Paul runs tomorrow  at Thirsk and he didn’t get dropped by the handicapper on his last start so he is finding it tough this season. If things go his way he is still capable of winning of this mark but he wouldn’t want any more rain either. Its a tricky time of year with Autumn on its way and the ground soon turning after a few showers.
