Sunday’s news – winner!

Pass Muster becomes our first flat winner of the season – and in some style! He lifts the valuable Musselburgh Gold Cup – £12,500 to the winner for Keith and Jayne Sivills.  This was a really exciting win for us to kick off the flat season – he was a massive each way price at 8-1 considering his good course form over hurdles and he put his Fakenham run well behind him when he simply didn’t handle the tight left handed track. This was much more his cup of tea and Philip Makin gave him a great ride to squeeze through in the final furlong and just get up in a photo.  Another good ultra cheap staying purchase by Phil – he claimed him for just £6k off the flat, he has now won three and more than doubled his purchase price here.  It was also a promising run from Dr Irv who just flattened out in the final furlong but had travelled well throughout, there will be other days for him this summer.

Pass Muster has such a huge stride, look at him stick his neck out here all the way to the line, lets hope he can progress again and take another here this summer.

Herenowandwhy looked much sharper today than last time at Catterick, he was quicker out the stalls and travelled well for much of the race, and hopefully he will back to winning ways  soon for the Jolly Beggars Partnership.

Tomorrow its Just Paul at Redcar, again he will strip sharper for his first run, although he may yet be in the grip of the handicapper, time will tell but he was an absolute star for us last season.

Good to see Niall collaring Phil for an interview…..thank goodness he had a tie on…
