4 runners at Sedgefield

A lovely morning yesterday at Middleham and four lots were exercised on the 3f and 7f gallops.

Word of Warning heads fourth lot.

And here he goes up the 7f gallop, a swinging canter

listen for Phil’s commentary for further identification, others behind include Noir Girl

imageOur grey geldings were looking fantastic and Stopped Out was enthusiastic ridden by Kate as usual, he ran such a tremendous race last time at Haydock, his fourth  flat start.

And not forgetting Grey Command who is back in canter work and looking like being ready for a Christmas comeback.

Here is his video up the gallops with Nadine:

Four runners tomorrow! We have two in the handicap hurdle, Iktiview and Mr Mistopholees. Timeforms verdict from the ATR website  is as follows:

Phil Kirby has had a terrific year and looks to hold strong claims with both C&D winner Iktiview and Mr Mistopheles. However they may have to give way to recent Kelso scorer Honourable Gent who responded really well for the fitting of the hood and may just be capable of building on that now.

But his rival, also from our yard, Mr Mistopholees was looking tremendous in the sunshine at Middleham today – good luck to his ‘hands on’ Owner Julia Brooke who will be leading him up and riding the finish on him by the rails – her son Henry takes the ride.

Nadine with Boris

Its the last day working for us  for both Nadine Field and Harriet Bethell today – we wish them both luck in their new positions and many winners for Harriet on the track and Pointing this winter.  We are very pleased to be keeping the Bethell families ‘ young French horse ‘Nik Nak’ and he showed a lovely aptitude for jumping today over the tyres ridden by Richie Mcgrath.image

I took many videos yesterday, and will be loading them throughout the day.

Back to todays other two runners: War Lord and Blondinabar.

War Lord made a pleasing debut recently, he looks to have a big danger in the McCain horse who Phil hoped would run at Wetherby, but its declared here. He will have come on for his first experience and we are looking forward to seeing how he has progressed.

Blondinabar is making her racecourse debut for new Owner, Dave Hopper. She is a stoutly bred mare who is quite buzzy at home and Kyle rides her kost days. he can be seen on her going up the gallop yesterday on the videos updates shortly. We are looking for a debut with some promise for the future.
